The Mayor of Gosport visited Level 1 Bricklaying students at Gosport College on Wednesday.
Cllr Roger Allen, who is often seen dropping into the College, spoke to the students about their work and what Gosport College has done for them. Cllr Allen said: ‘When I was young it was much easier – there weren’t so many of us. These guys have got to be very much on the ball. Their job is extremely valuable.’ When asked about how Gosport College provides for NEETs, he commented: ‘We’ve got to provide all the facilities we can. These youngsters need the direction to succeed.’ Former Brookfield Community School student, Bow Barnard, said: ‘It’s worth coming here because the earlier you do something with your life, the sooner you start building a career.
