Level 3 Sports Development (Football Centred)

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at C grade or an NVQ Pass grade or BTEC Level 2. If you do not meet the academic requirements you may be able to undertake this course subject to interview and coaching assessment.

Course Details

During this course you will undertake leadership and coaching skills for maintaining a group of people while developing a sport in the community football coaching scheme. You will learn how to create funding bids for a football project and how to recruit your staff members when managing a football project. During your course you will study a number of specific units for example:

  • Preparing and leading activity sessions
  • Support the work of your team and organisation
  • Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation

All sports students have the opportunity to complete a Level 2 Stewarding Award through Southampton Football Club (subject to funding).
