Level 3 Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET)

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above (desirable) and/or Level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance or Body and Paint, and pass an entrance examination.

Course Details

This course is ideal if you would like to work in the Motor Vehicle Industry. This course will cover a range of skills and knowledge including:

  • Health, safety and good housekeeping
  • Supporting job roles
  • Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices
  • Removing and fitting vehicle electronic components and systems
  • Removing, refurbishing and fitting components
  • Refrigerant handling

The course also involves topics such as materials fabrication and job roles in the automotive work environment. This qualification is the final step towards becoming a qualified mechanic with the Level 3 technical certification.

Next Steps

When you have achieved this qualification you may wish to progress to study Level 4 Automotive Management, or employment in a garage or accident repair centre.
