Level 2 Coaching Strength & Conditioning in Sport

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at D grade, or NVQ Level 1 at pass grade or equivalent. If you do not meet the academic requirements you may be able to undertake this course, subject to interview and coaching assessment.

Course Details

This practical course is suitable for students requiring a more active style of learning. This course will give you the opportunity to develop and expand your skills in Coaching, Strength and Conditioning within sports. During your course you will study a number of specific units for example:

  • Understanding the fundamentals of coaching sports
  • How to develop participants through coaching sports
  • Understanding the principles of safe and equitable coaching practice
  • Prepare the strength and conditioning for sport coaching environment

All sports students have the opportunity to complete a Level 2 Stewarding Award through Southampton Football Club (subject to funding).

Next Steps

If you are successful you could go on to study a one year Level 3 Diploma in Sport or a career within the sport coaching industry.
