The Level 1 Award or Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children & Young People would be an advantage but no formal entry qualifications are required. You must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in this subject and will be expected to develop your English, Maths and I.C.T. skills.
This course will develop your skills and knowledge working with children and young people in a variety of settings. Course units include:
You will learn about Employment Rights & Responsibilities and complete Functional Skills qualifications for English, Maths and I.C.T. You will also be able to attend a certified First Aid course.
Your progress will be assessed through written tasks and observations carried out at your workplace. External assessment (on-line or paper-based) will take place for you to gain your Technical Certificate and Functional Skills qualifications.
You must be employed or have an Apprenticeship agreement with an employer for over 16 hours a week in order to complete your Apprenticeship. You will be required to attend regular in-house training and some assignments may have to be completed in your own time. Apprenticeships are subject to availability and will be funded by your employer.
This course offered by Gosport College, in partnership with Fareport, will be studied at Fareport’s own training centre located on Gosport High Street (Opposite the Post Office).
