Level 1 Strength & Conditioning in Sport

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade D or above. Good standard of football ability and an interest in a career in the sports industry.

Course Details

This course will introduce you to the principles and practices of coaching safe and effective strength and conditioning activities. The course units include:

  • Understanding the fundamentals of coaching sport
  • Planning coaching activities
  • Conducting coaching activities
  • Understanding the principles of evaluating coaching activities in sport
  • Coaching activities in strength and conditioning for sport
  • Evaluating coaching activities in strength and conditioning for sport

All sports students have the opportunity to complete a Level 2 Stewarding Award through Southampton Football Club (subject to funding).

Next Steps

If you are successful you could go on to study a one year Level 3 Diploma in Sport or a two year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma.
