Level 1 Brickwork

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications required but you will need to show commitment towards developing a career in bricklaying and other trowel trades (e.g. plastering).

Course Details

This course will give you the chance to start developing skills relating to brickwork crafts. You will learn about building with a variety of materials and building cavity walls. You will find out how to design and work out the quantities needed for building projects. You will also learn about Health and Safety.

Your progress will be assessed through practical assignments, showing us what you have learnt, as well as a multiple choice exam. In addition to your construction course you will also work to improve your skills in Maths, English and IT.

Next Steps

If you are successful and show us that you can work hard, you could go on to the Level 2 course. This will increase your employment prospects. If you pass the course, you will be able to demonstrate to employers that you have the potential to successfully follow a craft or technician apprenticeship.
